I have been thinking a lot about my Uncle Matt lately. I just wanted to share his last blog entry that he wrote on his cancer blog
Matt's Spectacular Testacular Cancer Blog entitled "Today's the day", he wrote on january 14th ....
Here am I floating round my tin can, far above the moon
Planet Earth is blue and there's nothing I can do...
Here we go!
I googled the words because I wanted to know where it came from.
It is a part from a David Bowie song. I didn't find
the lyrics too fitting at the time, but they are now.
I apologize in advance if it makes you tear up, I did.
I really miss my uncle matty.
Ground Control to Major Tom
Ground Control to Major Tom
Take your protein pills and put your helmet on
Ground Control to Major Tom
Commencing countdown, engines on
Check ignition and may God's love be with you
(spoken)
Ten, Nine, Eight, Seven, Six, Five, Four, Three, Two, One, Liftoff
This is Ground Control to Major Tom
You've really made the grade
And the papers want to know whose shirts you wear
Now it's time to leave the capsule if you dare
"This is Major Tom to Ground Control
I'm stepping through the door
And I'm floating in a most peculiar way
And the stars look very different today
For here
Am I sitting in a tin can
Far above the world
Planet Earth is blue
And there's nothing I can do
Though I'm past one hundred thousand miles
I'm feeling very still
And I think my spaceship knows which way to go
Tell my wife I love her very much she knows"
Ground Control to Major Tom
Your circuit's dead, there's something wrong
Can you hear me, Major Tom?
Can you hear me, Major Tom?
Can you hear me, Major Tom?
Can you....
"Here am I floating round my tin can
Far above the Moon
Planet Earth is blue
And there's nothing I can do."

I miss him,too.
*BIG HUG* I'm sorry for your loss.
Even knowing what we know about eternal life, it's still hard to be seperated right now.
I had a very dear friend pass away. And that was the first time I came to understand that prayer and the Atonement are real. And powerful. And amazingly cool. And that your burdens can be lifted off your heart.
And I'll pray for you too. That you will know where you can turn for peace.
I love you. I'll keep you in my prayers.
I've been thinking about him alot lately too. There are so many things I want to talk to him about: The Watchmen, LOST, what wrong with my computer...
Sometimes you forget how much you rely on your friends...
